Achill Island lies off Co Mayo on the West coast of Ireland. Achill is known for its breathtaking scenery and stunning views having some of the highest and most spectacular cliff faces in Europe. There are five blue flag beaches on Achill with Keel Beach and The Strand Beach at Keem Bay being the most popular. Dugort beach is located directly across the road from the campsite. The route from the campsite to Keem Bay is something to behold when travelled on a Vespa (not for the fainthearted). There are many places of interest to visit on the Island, including, The Deserted Village, The Tower at Kildavnet ( home to legendary Irish pirate queen Granuaile) and The Aquarium and visitor centre. There are organised tours to some of these places which we can investigate if people are interested.
