I photographed this beautiful second series GS160 towards the end of March, earlier in the year. I don't go overboard for Mod scooters but I really like the subtle acknowledgment of this Vespa to that period.
Tight on space for the next issue of the club JOURNAL, thought I’d give these photos an airing on the website’s News Page.
Restored by Retrospective Scooters and The London Scooter Bodyshop at their workshops in Walthamstow, London, this 1964 GS looks stunning with the 2-tone paintjob; I love the deep hues of the overlaid dark blue - a testament to the painting skills and eye for detail of LSB’s Dave Maher.
The seat cover wouldn't be my choice but have to admit it sets off the bike perfectly; anyway that's the beauty of differing styles and tastes. Such a pretty looking GS no doubt costs a pretty penny too, but then such high quality doesn't come cheap. If you have the passion, means and inclination for a similar build, then speak to Retrospective and LSB.
See the other photos I shot on 35mm film of this MK2 GS160 - here.
