VVC’s Technical Advisor and Wessex Scooters co-owner, Roger Green, has been making good use of all the extra time; getting down and dirty in the workshop.
Roger is keeping the pictured VS5 mostly standard but is adding SIP’s 12V VAPE ignition, a Nagy high compression cylinder head, plus a new Pinasco front shock. The paint is being kept as is with Roger retaining as many original parts and components as he can. If the original carb proves to be a pain (often the case with original GS150 carburettors), he may try the Polini set up Wessex Scooters fitted to club member Bob Box’s VS5.
The above GS150 is for Roger’s own personal use but will also be used as a demonstrator to show potential customers what they can do to improve their GS150s; making visually subtle enhancements allowing for better running and performance. The below VS5 is one that Wessex recently resprayed and rebuilt the engine, shown below in Scottish customer’s workshop.
A good few VVC members are GS150 owners; if you’re looking to give your GS a makeover and add some upgrades, get in touch with Roger and Neil at Wessex Scooters to talk over the options that are increasingly opening up to Piaggio’s most feted Vespa model.
