Dropped my scooter in this week for a service at Retrospective Scootersprior to commuting to work by Vespa from April; a good idea to get it given a good once over before getting back in the saddle.

The 25th issue of ScooterNova magazine is on sale now - editor Andy Gillard has generously contributed an article to the upcoming VVC Journal, which is nice. ScooterNova magazine is also staging a riding event, full details of which are published in the latest May/June edition.
Just recently Restrospective owner, Niall McCart, sent me this great piece from the New York Times, no less, reporting on Retrospective Scooters’ electric engine conversions for classic scooters.
In recognition of all the good work she does in maintaining the club’s financial records, Joan Toohey has been awarded the VVC Ladies Margaret Farquhar trophy.
No VVC Annual General Meeting last year sadly, for obvious reasons, but thanks to club shop manager, Richard Vickery, for this photo of him accepting the well deserved Chairman’s Award.

Spring (Primavera) has definitely sprung, or it felt like it had today. A day off work and with a few supplies needed, it felt rude not to give my senorita a runout.
Robin Blair’s 1956 Douglas Vespa 92L2 and Blacknell Gnat sidecar is October’s entry in the 2021 VVC calendar of members’ bikes. Robin has also recently posted a great video on YouTube of the restoration of his combo.
