Our current Membership Secretary, Peter Harris, has decided to step down. The club thank Peter for all of his hard work, efforts and time.
After emailing members to canvas interest in the committee vacancy, we had a good response and after some consideration have invited Martin Sambrook to take up the post. We are very pleased Martin has accepted and he will shortly begin the process of taking over from Peter. He is a long standing VVC member, and comes with the necessary pre-requisites of being far too easily distracted and consumed by a love of classic scooters - perfect, he should fit right in!
"Hi everyone, I’m Martin and I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed as the Membership Secretary for the VVC.
I have been passionate about all aspects of the scooter scene since the late 70s - a combination of seeing a particular movie, listening to certain bands and riding around on the back of my Dad's 1979 Vespa P200e,
I’ve been a member of the Veteran Vespa Club for many years and appreciate the collective passion, knowledge and enthusiasm for these beautiful old machines - I thought it was about time that I became a bit more involved and helped to ensure that the club continues to thrive.
I presently have four scooters in my carpeted garage (but have owned many more over the years) - a 1958 GS150, a 1965 SS180, a 1979 P200e and a 1959 Series 1 Lambretta.
I will soon be meeting up with current Membership Secretary, Peter Harris, to ensure a smooth handover. Hoping that you have a great year of Scootering in 2019.
All the best - Martin."
Welcome to Martin, we look forward to having him on board and know he will be an excellent addition! Thank you to all those who applied for the role; it’s not easy getting volunteers and your interest is much appreciated!
