Dropped my scooter in this week for a service at Retrospective Scootersprior to commuting to work by Vespa from April; a good idea to get it given a good once over before getting back in the saddle.
"The past is not dead, it is not even past," is a famous quote by William Faulkner. I had to think of this when I met up with about 30 other Vespisti on Saturday morning in a parking lot in the south of Munich.

The latest hot spell and humid nights have allowed for some pleasant writing, nothing salacious as this post’s title may suggest, just me writing content for the next VVC JOURNAL.
Returned home on Sunday afternoon after completing the Three Shires Ride organised and put on by ScooterNova magazine. Good to see VVC representation there over the weekend.
You can now view the full set of 35mm film photos I took, plus one or two phone shots, of ‘Doodlebug’, the cover star Vespa of VVC JOURNAL No.86 (spring 2021).
The 25th issue of ScooterNova magazine is on sale now - editor Andy Gillard has generously contributed an article to the upcoming VVC Journal, which is nice. ScooterNova magazine is also staging a riding event, full details of which are published in the latest May/June edition.
Just recently Restrospective owner, Niall McCart, sent me this great piece from the New York Times, no less, reporting on Retrospective Scooters’ electric engine conversions for classic scooters.
